I never imagined myself starting a blog. In 2022 I graduated from civil engineering and have been working at a consultant ever since. I have always been good at math and science but writing was never my strong suit, so when I told my friends and family that I wanted to start a blog some eyebrows were definitely raised. But I was desperate. After a few months into my consultant job, I quickly realized that a 9-5 desk job is not my passion and that I need to find something quick that I enjoy doing. A couple months later I stumbled upon blogging. After doing hours of research and diving deep into what blogging is, I decided why not give it a try and that is how Sao Belas was created.

For those you wondering, Sao Belas translates to “are beautiful” from Portuguese and is a common saying that I would hear growing up from my Portuguese family. ALSO, my mom’s name is Sao and her sister’s name is Bela, how crazy is that! To be fair it wasn’t as easy as that. I was very close to naming my blog after my cat Chico but I figured Sao Belas sounded better (so I made him an Instagram instead which you should checkout here).
